I can’t really call myself a Red Velvet fan just because I’m not super familiar with their discography (I know a few songs and like them) but the girls – every single one of them (yes even Wendy) – just seem like such genuinely nice and friendly girls. They’re that one group for me that I always love hearing good things about and hearing of their successes even if I don’t really fall into their fandom.

If you claim to be an ELF but you don’t accept Henry and Zhou Mi, you aren’t an ELF. If you claim to be a ReVeluv but you don’t accept Yeri, you aren’t a ReVeluv. If you claim to be a fan of any group but you don’t accept even one of the members when the rest of the group have already accepted them, you do not have the right to claim part of that fandom.

I don’t think it’s fair to say newer groups are better and are more successful because they have more fans. Of course they have more fans, kpop has gotten more exposure compared to 5, 10, even 15 years ago. There obviously would be more attention, and people are going to be quicker to look up whose getting mentioned and videos of right now rather than from years ago.
