If you claim to be an ELF but you don’t accept Henry and Zhou Mi, you aren’t an ELF. If you claim to be a ReVeluv but you don’t accept Yeri, you aren’t a ReVeluv. If you claim to be a fan of any group but you don’t accept even one of the members when the rest of the group have already accepted them, you do not have the right to claim part of that fandom.

I don’t think it’s fair to say newer groups are better and are more successful because they have more fans. Of course they have more fans, kpop has gotten more exposure compared to 5, 10, even 15 years ago. There obviously would be more attention, and people are going to be quicker to look up whose getting mentioned and videos of right now rather than from years ago.

It always confused me when people say that Kpop idols are debuting younger and younger each year/generation because where? It makes it sound like companies are starting to debut 10 year olds, but the average youngest debut age has always remained 15 ever since the beginning. Idols aren’t getting younger, you’re just getting older.

Can we all pls agree on the fact that rap is an artform, and it’s therefore impossible to decide who is the best rapper. Some might like nasely high pitches voices like hyuna & edawn (mom and dad), some might like more aggresive voices/raps like August D (suga bts), deep voices like T.O.P & Felix (stray kids), or ‘talk-rap-hybrid’ like Minho (shinee). No rap style is superior!! its all subjective, and comes down to personal style and preference :))

I watch a lot of “most viewed kpop videos of all time” type videos on YT and it’s so sad how when counting views/likes/streams for Kpop videos, the top 20 is always dominated by the same few artists (BTS, BP, TWICE, etc). Like before, it used to be incredible for a Kpop video to hit 40 million views, or 10 million streams, but now if a video doesn’t hit 100 million in the first few months it’s a flop. And that’s not to say those other bands aren’t good or anything, but there are so many underrated Kpop songs that get paid dust because everyone’s only paying attention to what’s most popular. And when new fans ask for request to get into Kpop, people recommend the same few songs and artists over and over again. Plus a lot of these bigger artists could put out trash ass music, but it’ll still do well because their popularity will allow it.
